Cybertruck production version may be slightly smaller for easier parking
Yesterday, Elon revealed some information about potential changes of production version of the Cybertruck through a series of tweet exchange with fans.
It starts with an TESLARATI article about Cybertruck might be too big for some family garages. Elon replied that they might be able to “reduce width by an inch & maybe reduce length by 6+ inches without losing on utility or esthetics.” He also mention the “Min height is below 75 inches when air suspension set to low.” They “Will post exact number soon.”
We can prob reduce width by an inch & maybe reduce length by 6+ inches without losing on utility or esthetics. Min height is below 75 inches when air suspension set to low. Will post exact number soon.

Elon definitly know what the custom want. Yes, we still want to park Cybertruck in regular parking spots. So the changes is here:
Length | Width | Height | |
---|---|---|---|
Original Design | 231.7 IN | 79.8 IN | 75.0 IN |
Production Design | ~225.7 IN | ~78.8 IN | 75.0 IN |
True, more for parking at destination. Really needs to fit in same external envelope as a full-size SUV, but with better height control with air suspension, so it can fit in low clearance parking garages.

And no worry, the cabin room and cargo capacity will not be reduced with the production version.
There will be no loss of either

He also mentioned a little bit about the smaller Cybertruck. “That will require a full redesign, but probably ~73 inches or ~185 cm width”.

He then thanks for everyone’s ideas to Cybertruck.

No idea why people keep asking question in this type of “Thank you” tweet, but ok. Elon mentioned that they will try to get the electric ATV ready together with Cybertruck.
We’ll aim to have it come out same time as truck. Two seater electric ATV designed to work with Cybertruck will be fun! Electric dirt bikes would be cool too. We won’t do road bikes, as too dangerous. I was hit by a truck & almost died on one when I was 17.

Btw, it’s not uncommon that car manufacturers change design slightly after unveiling events. Tesla actually did that for the Model X. Not only the front face changed (in a good) for the production version, they also added the side mirror (sounds familiar?).
